Microinsurance MBA Learning Session: Organizing a General Assembly and Administering the Board Election Process

Alongside the First General Assembly of MiMAP, RIMANSI also conducted a microinsurance MBA learning session, entitled “Organizing a General Assembly and Administering the Board Election Process” last March 30, 2015 at The Legend Villas in Mandaluyong City.

The learning session focused on various experiences of MBAs with different partner agents, such as microfinance institutions and rural banks in organizing a general assembly and implementing processes of administering board selection. Some of the Mutual Benefit Associations (MBAs) that shared their experiences were SEDP MBA, CARE MBA and PBC MBA. Ms. Emeteria Quijano, General Manager of ASKI MBA, and Ms. Arlene Umandap, Senior Program Manager of CARD MBA, served as panelists for the learning session.

Atty. Jomer Aquino, RIMANSI legal consultant, articulated on legal guidelines on the topic. He emphasized on the legal framework, valid election process, and proper representative voting for Mi-MBAs. The RIMANSI Secretariat continuously conducts learning sessions and various trainings and  workshop on Mi-MBAs.
