Insurance Commissioner Emmanuel Dooc applauded the Microinsurane MBA Association of the Philippines, Inc (MiMAP) for its constant dedication to promote and improve the welfare of the insurance industry in raising the bar higher for MBAs.
During the 2016 General Assembly of MiMAP, Commissioner Dooc said that the association has been instrumental in empowering and protecting millions of Filipinos in the fulfillment of its purpose of serving the marginalized and financially excluded citizens.
Currently, MiMAP has 17 MBA members and 3.48 million members nationwide, which is translated to 15.7 million lives covered. It has an equity value to 950 million pesos, with assets increasing to 10.73 billion pesos for the year 2015.
May Dawat, President of MiMAP, said that the association is guided by the process of listening, recognizing, respecting, proposing, doing, involving and blending to provide needed services –all of which have translated to the pooling of resources, expertise and benefits. This all contributed to MiMAP’s vision of one direction, one voice, shared programs and services, pooled risks and mutual protection.
Also, during the event, the Board of Trustees were unanimously re-elected to their positions, after the acclamation from the Assembly, inducted by the Insurance Commissioner himself. Mr. Camilo Casals was appointed as Independent Trustee, while Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip remained as the Chairman Emeritus, and Dr. Epifanio Manieboand Mr. Ernesto Galenzoga asthe Board of Advisors.
MiMAP members actively participated in the the General Assembly conducted on March 28, 2016 at the Discovery Suites, Pasig City.
