  • IC allows MBAs to Grant Loans to Partner MFIs

    The Insurance Commission (IC) allowed Mutual Benefit Associations (MBAs) to grant loans to its partner microfinance institutions (MFIs) following the proposal of the Microinsurance Mutual Benefit Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MiMAP).  In a regular policy dialogue with IC, MiMAP proposed to allow a loan not exceeding to the 10% of the Mi-MBAs total admitted assets to its partner MFIs.   • Project Bagong Araw PREMIUM Rolled Out to Help Yolanda Victims

    Years after Typhoon Yolanda washed out the towns of Eastern Visayas, the Canadian Cooperative Association (CCA)  in partnership with the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development, Inc. (CARD), the Microinsurance MBA Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MiMAP) and the Microventures Foundation (MVF) launched the Bagong Araw Philippines: Rebuilding through Micro-insurance and Women’s Microenterprises (Bagong Araw PREMIUM Project).   • TWG Successfully Developed Health Microinsurance Framework for Greater Health Care Inclusion

    The Microinsurance MBA Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MiMAP) actively participated in developing the Health Microinsurance Framework as part of the technical working group composed of the Department of Finance- National Credit Council (DOF-NCC), Insurance Commission (IC), Department of Health (DOH) and other representatives from different organization.
