  • Insurance, Savings and Loan Advocates (ISLA) mobilized in Samar and Leyte to increase outreach

    Samar and Leyte—In 2018, PREMIUM explored the development of new distribution channels to help provide risk managing financial services such as savings, loans and microinsurance products throughout Samar and Leyte. One such distribution channel is through the Insurance, Savings and Loan Advocates (ISLA). Sari-sari store owners (SSSOs) from Eastern Visayas were profiled and trained to become the pilot group of ISLA facilitators that would provide access to risk managing financial services through the sari-sari store business model. Through this scheme, sari-sari stores increase the outreach and scope of microinsurance services—especially for remote and hard-to-reach communities.

  • Area Managers, Unit Managers, Account Officers, Microinsurance Supervisors and Coordinators of CARD MRI have orientations in preparation for Sagip Negosyo roll out

    Tacloban, Leyte—On 11 October 2018, fifty-one Area Managers, Unit Managers, Account Officers, Microinsurance Supervisors and Coordinators from CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) had an orientation and training session on Sagip Negosyo in preparation for the graduation of Cohort 03 beneficiaries.   • 162 sari-sari store owners join the Palarong Sari-sari Sure during the second Microinsurance Roadshow

    Basey, Samar—On 9 August 2018, 162 store owners who became part of the PREMIUM Project joined the Microinsurance Roadshow: Palarong Sari-sari Sure at Christ is King Church in Barangay Buscada, Basey in Samar.
